How can I remove a tenant who was added to my original tenants rental agreement and they have now separated?

2nd tenant was added by way of an addendum to the original agreement and a joint tenancy was created. Now 2nd tenant has left leaving the original tenant who wants to revert to the agreement in her sole name as it was originally. What is the best way to do this. I am a private landlord.
