In army aviation, is it better to stay officer or revert to warrent officer?
Hi, I will be commissioning in december into army national guard aviation for blackhawks. I have heard its pretty hard to make aviation a full 20 year career because few higher up slots are available. If I like flying alot and money is not important as far as pay grade is concerned, is switching to warrent officer a good idea so that I can make the guard a 20 year career and stay in aviation the entire time? Some people are telling me you would always rather have the rank than to revert to warrent so thats why I am wondering this right now. Thanks!
